USS Lake Champlain (CVS-39) was an Essex-class aircraft carrier of the United States Navy. She was commissioned in June 1945 and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Following the war, Lake Champlain was used primarily for training and experimental purposes, including serving as a test platform for the first jet-powered aircraft carrier landing in 1947.

During the Korean War, Lake Champlain served as the flagship of Task Force 77 and participated in numerous combat operations. She was also involved in the Apollo 4 and Apollo 6 space missions as a recovery ship.

In 1966, the Lake Champlain was converted to an anti-submarine warfare carrier (CVS) and served in this role until she was decommissioned in 1973. She was sold for scrap in 1975.

Throughout her career, USS Lake Champlain received numerous awards and honors for her service, including five battle stars for her participation in World War II and six battle stars for her service in the Korean War.
